I'm having problem with Format, spaces between the lines.
When I write an email everything looks fine, but when I got replies from people I see lots of spaces between the lines. Its like I've pressed enter after every line...

How to solve this problem?

Bullets - Why are they forcing me to use their default format? why can't numbering be normal on the left side without few tab spaces and then start numbering.

if you need more info let me know.

Thanks

Hello kopion and welcome to the forums

This is a problem to do with how Outlook makes HTML emails, you have several solutions but I think the easiest is to edit the template file. In Outlook, go to the Format Text tab, you should see a Paragraph section on that ribbon, in the bottom right hand corner of this there should be a little grey square with a triangle in it, click on it. Then take a screenshot of the box that comes up please :) Attach it to your next post.

As for the bullet points question, we'll sort out the line spacing problem first then we'll sort that out for you.

Great thanks for short guide.
3 images attached, sample1-wrong.png is how it looks when people reply me. sample-correct is how I sent them (and I still see it that way in my sentbox).

Let me know what can be done.

Hi kopion,

Right, I know that this can be avoided by pressing Shift + Space when you want to go onto a new line. I.e. do so twice for a paragraph. But, this might get a little frustrating after a while and it would be much nicer to have an automated fix.

In that paragraph window, try changing the Spacing - After to 12pt. I have to say, this is a little bit of an experiment, but it's not at all dangerous :) So it might not work, but it's worth a shot.

I tried but 12pt just extended space between the lines... I tried using Help file but it can't find anything from Paragraph window, strange...
What about option: Don't add space between paragraphs..
And what about "Line and Page Breaks" is there anything there I could use?

thank you

Right, let's try this :)

Hi kopion,

Okay, it was worth a shot. Let's try something else:

Note   Note
Make sure you have any office program closed before doing this!
Note   Note
This will also reset any signatures that you currently have set, but we can always revert this change if it doesn't work, so don't be alarmed

Resetting Default Outlook Style

  1. Go to Start > Run to bring up the run box
  2. In the box, type cmd and press OK to open Command Prompt followed by pressing Enter
  3. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the following commands one by one into Command Prompt

    ren %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dotm %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dotm.BAK

    ren %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates\NormalEmail.dotm %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates\NormalEmail.dotm.BAK
  4. Now re open Outlook and see if it's working
If it doesn't work, and you need to change back, repeat with these commands:

del /f /q "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dotm"

ren "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dotm.BAK" "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dotm"

del /f /q "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates\NormalEmail.dotm"

ren "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates\NormalEmail.dotm.BAK" "%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Templates\NormalEmail.dotm"

I tried but 12pt just extended space between the lines... I tried using Help file but it can't find anything from Paragraph window, strange...
What about option: Don't add space between paragraphs..

Yeah, give that option a try. It can't hurt. Also, try changing the Spacing - After to 6pt. I've read that this may also work.

And what about "Line and Page Breaks" is there anything there I could use?

thank you
Not that I'm aware of, but I'll look further into it.

You're most welcome :)
