Hey I have had RC 2 installed since it came out, but I uninstalled it last night so that I can get the rtm version when ever it comes out, but now my sound card wont work. Its a Hey I have had RC 2 installed since it came out, I reinstalled the drivers and it still wont work, in device manager it says it cant find the driver. I restarted windows and ran windows update and it finds drivers, but the install just fails after about 5mins.

I think I have tried everything, just wondering if anyone has had this problem and no how to fix it. I will point out this is the first ever problem I have not been able to fix in less then 5mins. Iam sure if I reinstalled it would work fine again but I would like to avoid that if I can.

List your system specs.

Try taking your audio device out of the computer or if its built in disableing it in the bios.
Then uninstall it in safe mode.
Reset the computer to clean up any files left over.
Reinstall the sound card then the drivers that came with it.

If anyone knows a quicker way around this I would like to know.

Hi. Did you uninstall the RC2 correctly? Lets suppose you did, I see you have 64 bit Vista, then just go to Creative website and download the 64 bit drivers and install.
If you already have done this and still see errors, then its possible the RC2 uninstall has foobared your system.
Unfortunately I would do a Repair installation. Have a look at the tutorials in these forums to show you how.
Good Luck.
