.mp3 extension problem

i just downloaded some songs off of btjunkie and when i try to play them in windows media player it says it cannot play .mp3 file extension, i went to the help section and it said, that it can be played but it is compressed or something, i will have more exact info when media player opens up again for sopme reason it stopped, just wanted to know if anybody knows of or may have experienced this problem to.

Download and install Audacity...a sound editing software that does a great job of converting.

If Audacity cannot play them it's very likely to be due to corrupted/damaged .mp3 files.

If Audacity opens them you can convert them to .wav files then re convert them to mp3's to fix them

When you say BTJUNKIE , i think we are getting into discussing about torrents which is a sensitive topic . I would request the moderators to allow me come up with some tips for our friend if i am allowed to do so .( I don wanna get banned ..... i certainly do not ...:geek:
