Hi
i have a problem like many of you here which up till now i cannot solve. I have an HP Pavilion dv9925nr laptop and I uninstalled the sound driver due to some sound trouble while playing a game, but unfortunately after trying to install its driver back again vista didn't detect my sound card which I guess it's an on board card. I have tried different drivers and I even restored my laptop to it factory setting but to no avial. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

What version of Bios do you have?
I think you will need to reset the sound card in the bios!
Can you access the bios & in the sound card in the settings "Force active" or de-activate on one boot & then re-active it on next boot?

You can load the bios from windows or Dos, this is dependant on the method, and this could reset the bios to re-enable the divice if it is just locked up.

Your Bios/ drivers etc are available on the HP website, but I would like to confirm the version before attempting any modifications! So, please post your version. OK
