Solved Modem device on high definition audio bus

Issue: I have no audio when Im online. When watching video/music stored on my external no problems. Ive tried audio driver updates from dell/SigmaTel and ran a driver finder but that made no difference.

Been less than 24 hours since this started and Im clueless. I have a Dell 5100C desktop running XP Pro. Have searched for solutions but nothing has come up that resolves issue.

Thoughts?!

FYI!! It did clear the question mark near the modem though. Sadly...... the problem still exists. No audio online/fine when listening on VLC from my external. Very strange.

After saving the file, go to START > RUN > and type 'regedit' and then click OK
In the registry, select FILE > IMPORT and select the "missing.reg" file from your desktop
You should get a confirmation that it was imported successfully.

This is an instant fix ... your speakers should now work for web sounds, no reboot required.
