Hello i dont know if this is the right section or whatnot im searching for help on my Windows Vista Home Permium. Well its like this i start my computer the Samsung logo comes then comes Boot Achpi CD: and nothing else happens. I have tried to use that windows will not boot from cd it didnt work, tried from Recoveries Startup Repair didnt work, system restore did nothin, and the others arent realy relevent to my problem.
I once saw my brother fix this problem with Command Prompt I have 0 clue how he did probably with some commands that seems logical so what Im asking is can I get the commands to fix it ? And this is just a little add to this i have a virus in my computer that creates random folders in my Window/Temp folder and adds and .exe in what very weird names i have ran like 5 virus scans with Avast/Windows defender/macfree scanner and nothing found ..
To boot to the CD you may need to change the BIOS to make the CD-drive first in the boot sequence. To do that, wait for the screen that tells you the F key to push to access the boot menu or boot setup. Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work, and exit. Put the CD in the drive and reboot. When prompted, push any key to boot from the CD.
If the new CD boots fine, then the problem is most likely the other CD. If neither CD boots, then we'll have to look further into the problem, but given the infection situation and the possibility that might be the cause, the next step should be to address that.
Download, install, update, and run Malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.phpin a full scan. It will create a report log. Please attach a copy of that log to your next reply.
Download, install, and run Hijack This HijackThis - Trend Micro USA (the full version - not the beta). It too will create a report log. Please zip that log and attach a copy of the zipped folder to your next reply.
After that, someone much more skilled than I am will assist you with the infection. Having this information available will help her to get a running start on identifying and solving the problem. Once that's resolved, if the CD issue still remains, someone else (perhaps me) will return to assist you with that - knowing that it isn't caused by the infection.
