Solved Data Execution Prevention Box is Blank ?...

Hello guys I'm new here and I seem to ran into a problem and wanted to find out if this is normal or not, I'll also provide a pic to show my explaination also.
Well, today to make a long story short my Data Execution Prevention Box is totally BLANK, what I mean is when I do my search as; Computer>Properties>Advanced System Settings>Advanced>Performance Settings>Data Execution Prevention The whole Box is Blank, I can not turn on Dep or turn off Dep, I can not Add programs for an exemption either. The only thing I can click on in that Box is "How does this work?" and the "ok" button on the bottom left of the Box.
Is this a normal thing in Vista or is this a problem that can be fixed somehow?,I know I can turn it on and off through cmd but I'm not looking for a solution like that, what I want to do is add my epsxe (playstation 1) Emulator to it BC everytime I run the emulator select the ISO,load it, then click ok to start my game the emulator crashes and it tells me that the Data Execution Prevention is what's Closing the program. If you can help me I would really appreciate it...

Hello Digihax, and welcome to Vista Forums.

It sounds like DEP may be disabled. Check using the tutorial below to see if enabling DEP may help. :)

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/120778-dep-enable-disable.html

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Hello Shawn I have read that after I posted and did;
1. Open a elevated command prompt.

2. To Enable DEP A) In the elevated command prompt, type in bold below and press Enter. (See screenshot below)
NOTE: If for some reason this command does not enable DEP after restarting the computer, then use the bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOn command instead.
bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx OptIn
B) You should get a success message back

C) Close the elevated command prompt.

D) Restart the computer to apply.

But sadly to no avail, I did download but not installed the program and got the pdf of EMET though

Thank you man, I had to use bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx OptIn
Instead of
bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOn lol.
That was wierd BC the first time when I did it I used
bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx OptIn then rebooted it was still blank so i had to do it 2 times for it to work...

Thank you man.
