5102 server error

#1
I have not been able to download my messages because of this error for more
than 24hours now. Anybody can help??? Does Microsoft even know or care about
this problem???

Could this be the "POP-before-send" issue? There was a problem with older
versions of WLM and SMTP servers which require authentication using
"POP-before-send". So what version of WLM are you using?

It worked until about 24 hours ago. I have used it for three months now,
without any problems (though previously I had used msn with outlook, but they
screwed my account up and a lot of other things, so I cancelled my
subscription and moved to Live Mail when I got my new computer with Vista).

I'm using the latest version from the Microsoft website.

I'm so tired of this, I'm probably going to switch all my e-mail
communications to gmail in any case. Enough of those constantly new problems.
:( Very upsetting, because I have been using the same hotmail account for
more than ten years now.

5102 is an unspecified server error, and since you didn't give the rest of
the error message which could help identify it, there's nothing much anyone
can say about it. If removing the account, restarting WLMail and adding it
back again doesn't help, then it's likely that there is indeed a problem
with the server. If you look back a couple of days, you will see dozens of
posts complaining about server errors, which mostly resolved themselves in a
day or two. You may have to be patient while MS do their stuff.

I couldn't download the mails from hotmail using WLM.

I purchased a new DELL Vostro 1400, installed live mail , all the mails in
the hotmail got downloaded, i received new mail for couple of days.

From the third day it shows error

See below:

Unable to send or receive messages for the Hotmail (sing_ideas) account.
Windows Live Mail can't connect to the Hotmail server. To send and receive
messages in your Hotmail account, go to http://hotmail.live.com on the Web,
or try again later.

Server Error: 5102
Server Response: timedout to ip 10.1.226.43:2000
Server: 'http://mail.services.live.com/DeltaSync_v2.0.0/Sync.aspx'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x8DE00002

Can any one help with this WLMs repeated problems, same problem came when i

Microsoft doesn't seem very interested in these newsgroups. They rely on
volunteers to supply the answers in these newsgroups instead. Many of
those volunteers are in the US, so you may have to wait for more people
in the US to wake up.

The error message indicates a problem internal to the Hotmail server farm.
It's not your end.

According to Google, you're responding to a post dated 4 January
which was retired from the NNTP servers more than three months ago,
so don't expect many replies from him. At the time, major upheavals
at the MS server farms were causing a few users to have this problem
for a few days.

That said, did you look in Help?
