I keep getting this Bounced Message Notification, it says i've exceeded my
mailbox quota but my mail box is almost empty, it was fine untill a fuw days
ago
need help fast! Bizz Comp

A message was sent to you that was returned to the sender(bounced)
because it would have caused your mailbox quota to be exceeded.

The following is the reason that the message was over quota:

Quota Type: total bytes stored
Quota Available: 556
Total Quota: 10240000

You have probably set Outlook to retain a copy of the message on your
ISP's mail server. The quota that has been exceeded is on the web portal
of your e-mail provider. You need to deleted messages there.

John,

The message probably refers to your mailbox on your ISP. To clear out that
mailbox you will need to open your mailbox on the ISP site and clear it from
there.

Windows mail is getting the mail from the ISP mailbox, placing it in your
local hard disk and allowing you to see/delete it from the local hard disk.
A copy of the mail is being left on the ISP server in case you want to look
at it from the web or another computer.

This mode of operation can be changed to delete the mail from the ISP server
when it is copied to your hard disk.
Tools:
Accounts:
double click (to get properties) the mail account giving the error message
use advanced tab
in bottom, uncheck the leave a copy of message on server box.

This will keep your mailbox on the server from filling up in the future, you
will still have to clean it up by going to your ISP (with your web browser)
and removing all the stored mail there.
