Can't delete messages left over from a deleted IMAP account

R
#1
I have messages marked as new in my "Unread email" search folder that I can't
delete and cant mark as read, delete is grayed out, tried marking them as
junk so they would go away, but I get a generic error has occurred message.
Is there a way I can go behind the scenes and manually remove these from the
list?
Thank you
Oh and is there a way to get back the “hide window when inbox is CLOSEDâ€
instead of minimized? can a policy be created in regedit to prevent the
program from being closed?

Hi Ryan.
Your messages from the deleted IMAP account would have been deleted from the Message Store. But there is a bug with the Quick views in build 1606 of WLMail which could be causing your problem.
Try resetting your Quick views as follows:
To rebuild the Quick Views from scratch, you should delete the registry Value 'SearchFolderVersion' under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\ This will cause WLMail to rebuild its Quick view data store when it is next started.
If you don't mind editing the registry, this is a quick, easy, and drama free fix for buggy Quick views.

Ryan:
If that didn't fix it, another possibility is to Tools - Options - Advanced and hit the Maintenance button and then the Clean Up Now button. For some reason, that has fixed that kind of glitch for others. Are you on Windows Vista?
N. Miller might also tell you that we really do not need any other sloppy Apps that never close like messenger. You can just minimize all the time if you want to leave it running.

thanks for the tips, havn't had a chance to see if they work or not, but i
will this week.
as far as not being able to "hide window when closed" is i'm having a
problem with my self and family members closing (out of habit) the main
window too soon after sending a message. i think the messages are still going
out. but they are not always makeing it into the sent items folder. it would
be nice to have an option.
