CHKDSK error: unspecified error occured

Hello every body.
my pc have a windows vista home premium with 3 derives (C:, D:, F:). from one months ago until now, it starts showing this message to me when i want copy, delete, or install any file on my F: derive: "the disk structure is corrupted and unreadable". i should add that almost every other day it shows this message to me and some times with restarting the pc the problem solves but some days latter again it shows this error.
so i try to do a CHKDSK check at windows startup for my F: derive but at stage 3 it shows this error message: "unspecified error occured".
what should i do?
Thanks
///Ali

I cannot be familiar with every test out there. I am not familiar with the HP test, though I am pretty sure that your HD is ok. To be completely sure, take the test that I suggest, then we can go to the next step.

The SFC only checks the OS or drive c. It wil not check F.
The message that you are getting is not from a corrupted files. If anything it is from the drive itself.

If you follow these directions and upload the CBS to us, we have a very talented member who can tell you how to make the corrections manually. The usual way is with the install DVD, which you do not have

No it only fixes the OS.
But as I said I need help to make the changes that are needed. Ask to be sure about the changes.
It may take time. I will refer this now. The other member may not be online until tomorrow.

Merci, another question: giving this information to another person does have any risk in fields of privacy and security?
