Question:
Does anyone know to make a 64 bit program run in compatability mode with the Disable Desktop Composition enabled?
Info:
In Windows Vista Ultimate 64 i am running Maya 8.0
I am having a problem where when i click outside the viewport in Maya my computer stops rendering the viewport. This is because Vista switches from rendering Maya to rendering the desktop.
When u right click on a program and go properties -> Compatability Tab there is an option called Disable Desktop Composition. What this option does is when ever u run the program that has this option enabled it disables aero until u close the program and then it renables aero.
This is exactly what i want to do for Maya because it fixes the viewport problem.
One problem
I am runnin Maya 8.0 64 bit edition (the maya .exe is a 64bit program)
Since this is a 64 bit program Vista DISABLES all compatability options (they are all greyed out when i go to the compatability tab) and Desktop Composition is one of those options.
Disabling Compatability options for 64 bit programs makes sense because u cant run a 64 bit program in XP , 2000 , 98 , 95 and u wouldnt be running a 64 bit program in 256 color mode. But some of the other options such as Disable Desktop Composition shouldnt be greyed out just because it is a 64 bit program.
Does anyone know to make a 64 bit program run in compatability mode with the Disable Desktop Composition enabled?
