Hey!
At first I have to say that I'm not looking for a desktop switch, which switches between two or more desktops with windows on it.
I am looking for a application which allows to switch between two or more desktops. With "desktop" i simply mean the wallpaper with the desktop icons on it.
Mine is very overcrowded and so I searched for a solution that allows to adapt my workplace to the thing I'm doing. If I'm programming i want links to all my compilers and tools, if I'm gaming I want all my games at the desktop.
Thanks a lot for helpful ideas!

No, sorry, it's definitely not what i meant. I first didn't read the description exactly. Now I've realized that it's just another Desktop Switch. The applications and windows in front change, but the desktop behind doesn't.

I will try once more to tell you what I mean:
On my desktop I have links to very different applications. For the reason of more efficient work, I want to have them categorized.
The best method seems to have a few desktops which can be switched. So I would be able to say "Just show me the links I need for work" or "Just show me communication links" (like skype, msn,...) and the PC will switch to the Desktop where those links are. I would like to have a desktop with just those links I need at the moment.
I know I could do it by making several users, but I would prefer a faster and simplier way.
Is there any application which can do this?

Yes, that would be a solution, but it's not that easy..
I tried this and it didn't work, because I always closed the folder after I had clicked a application..:( In XP their was another solution to make a sidebar of this folder... There I had 5 or 6 different sidebars and i fixed that one I needed.
But okay, I think I will do it like this, because I don't think there is a better alternative.
Thanks a lot, though.
