Encounters error and closes EVERY time

I am running XP Media Center and lately EVERY time I try to launch Live
Messenger it signs in, then crashes and says it has encountered an error and
needs to close. I've deleted it and reinstalled and repaired the install.
I've tried signing in under different IDs, but nothing works.
Help!
This is the info in the error screen:
AppName: wlcomm.exe AppVer: 14.0.8117.416 ModName: dsoqq1.dll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00075193

First think I'd check is to make sure the date and time on your computer and
your router are correct. If they aren't it can cause sign in issues.

Find out where you got that module. Notice the version? A probable sign
that it is third-party. BTW if you want to get rid of it don't try just
deleting it. It probably came in some kind of package, so that is what you
should try to remove instead. OTOH BING doesn't know anything about it
so it is just as likely to be malware, which you would have to deal with
accordingly.

Good luck
