File Paths Too Long

So I was having trouble moving some files around and I ended up with this:

C:\Users\dg\kk\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Desktop\K\Misc

I can't get rid of any of that because it says I can't delete the desktop.

Hi, kelco333.

Open an Administrator:Command Prompt and use the rd (Remove Directory)
command with the /s switch. Read this whole message before you start
because there are some gotchas. It's not clear just how many layers of
"K\Desktop" you want to get rid of.

In the Command Prompt window: CD C:\Users\dg\kk
Then: rd desktop /s

And answer Yes when it asks, are you sure.

That should remove the top Desktop and everything from there down. Here's
the first gotcha: Maybe you'd rather use:
CD C:\Users\dg\kk\Desktop
Then: rd K /s

This would leave the top Desktop in place and delete the top "K" and
everything below it. (The safest - and longest - procedure would be to
navigate to the bottom subfolder and work your way up a layer at a time,
verifying the contents of each subfolder before you wipe it out.)

The other gotcha: I haven't tried deleting a Desktop folder and I haven't
had this exact problem. I've often deleted folders (which used to be called
directories), but not a Desktop folder. I THINK that if you delete the main
Desktop, Vista will simply rebuild it for you - but I'm not sure.

You will, of course, need to give yourself permission to deal with files and
folders that belong to "dg". Even if dg is you, Vista still might insist on
specific permission to delete dg's Desktop folder or its contents.

Please be sure to report back what you learn about this.
