fwpkclnt.sys

Hi.

I am using Vista Business edition and from last few days (may be couple of
weeks or more), I am frequently getting BSODs.

These are very random with sort of nothing being run (even when no program
is being run). Sometimes, even screen saver gets activated, I get the BSOD.

Generally the message is as follows:
***STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x00000078, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x8AB1A1F2)
*** fwpkclnt.sys - Address 8AB1A1F2 base at 8AB16000, DAteStamp 4549b2f6

Initially I thought it was appearing randomly, but later noted in a day when
the system was on the following:
In all the crashes, 0x000000D1 (0x00000078, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, was
common with the last hex changing to different numbers with varying address
and base. But the file fwpkclnt.sys and the date stamp remains same.
the last hex, address and base can be as follows:
0x8A8351F2, 8A8351F2, 8A831000
0x8A80D1F2, 8A80D1F2, 8A809000
0x8A4111F2, 8A4111F12, 8A40D000
0x8AA1B1F2, 8AA1B1F2, 8AA17000

The list goes on. I can give more numbers like these.. Quite a few i have
noted. But the File is same - fwpkclnt.sys

The dump files are attached with this.

I have added a TV tuner card, but it is not working. I have disabled it and
removed the drivers.
Also, my WebCam is not working. Earlier it used to. When Vista starts, I get
a error message saying "Vimicro stopped working". Also when updating
windows, Update shows one important update - webcam driver, but when trying
to install i get another error message - some updates were not installed.
Code 80070103. Removed the camera, driver, installed fresh. But webcam does
not work even now & also update doesn't get installed.

I have tried removing all programs that may cause the problem, but
unsuccessful. Also, did a virus check, checked for malware etc. Nothing is
present in the system.

How can I rectify this problem?? I do not want to format the system and go
through the whole thing again.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Kumar

Microsoft says there is a hotfix available, but does not say how to obtain it
without charge! My Vista installation support has expired. To find it I
yahooed "fwpkclnt.sys Datestamp 4549b2f6." If anybody else has remaining
installation support I'm sure they can get the hotfix. Thanks in advance for
either posting the microsoft hotfix link or if it isn't available, uploading
it to Rapidshare.com and posting the download link. In the meantime I'll be
booting Windows XP Home instead.

I finally relocated the Knowledge Base article about the problem. It's
#931365.

I managed to request the KB931365 hotfix from Microsoft by going to the
following url:
https://support.microsoft.com/contactus2/emailcontact.aspx?scid=sw;en;1410&WS=hotfix
, and waiting an hour for a link to be posted where I could download it.
However, the hotfix refused to install. I can only conclude that though the
KB931365 hotfix replaces the fwpkclnt.sys file and would probably solve the
fwpkclnt.sys BSOD error, some of its other intended replacement files do not
exist in my 32 bit Vista Home Premium installation. This implies that the
Microsoft KB931365 hotfix is specifically crafted to solve only one subset of
the fwpkclnt.sys BSOD problem. Again, I am reluctantly returning to my
Windows XP Home boot until Vista matures a little more.
