Help with cd/dvd - Not working!!

Okay so everytime I put a cd or dvd into my computer it doesn't read at all like does absolutely nothing. I THINK that's the drive I have..Can anyone help? Thanks if you can!!:D

The same thing happened to me on my Gateway laptop, but I have Optiarc AD-7563A. I resolved this issue by contacting Gateway live chat support. They told me the following: open regedit (Registry Editor) and navigate to HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} and to delete values UpperFilter and/or LowerFilter. I then rebooted and problem solved. The long string of letters and numbers will probably be different for your Optiarc model. I suggest contacting your computer manufacturer and trying to get live chat support. Let me know how it works out.
