I've to write emails in German or English and my mother language is
German. Can I switch the spell checking TEMPORARY from German to English
for writing in English?

Any suggestions?

Martin

You will have to add the language. Click on the link for instructions on
how to do it. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/177561

If you have any problems let us know.

I do it by changing the input language (left Shift + left Alt) and having
"Check spelling in current input language" selected on the Options >
Spelling page. Unless you know the English keyboard layout, stick to your
German keyboard.

Larry, thanks a lot. That was a very useful piece of advice :-)
Now I can switch the spelling check with a click on the language in the
system tray.

I have also added German per your instructions, but when I type something in
German and then use Spellcheck under Tools, it does not find German.

Am I missing something?

Martin, I did not succeed. I also followed (I think) instructions given
earlier quite carefully, did select German, but when I type for example "was
soll denn dies alles?" and go to Tools, I can go to spelling but it does not
check the German.

What am I missing?

I also see nothing in the system tray at the bottom re languages.

Hallo Ritter 197,
you have to go via "Systemsteuerung / Regions- und Sprachoptionen /
Sprachen / Details".
Under "Installierte Dienste" you must click on "Hinzufügen". In the
following form you can add a "Eingabegebietsschema" (=Language) and a
Tastaturlayout.
If you do so, you have the "Language Icon" in the system tray.

It sounds as if you have an English language version of WLMail. On the
Options > Spelling page, is German (Germany) listed under Languages and is
it Installed? If it's listed and shown as Available, you'll have to click
the Install button.
Then select "Check my spelling as I type" (useful for testing) and "Check
spelling in current input language". On the Language bar (probably next to
the system tray), make sure that DE is showing. Now try again to compose
something in German. If you make a deliberate error, what you just typed
should show with a wavy red line under it.
Let us know whether or not you get it working.
