Solved My Vista has too long shut down time

#1
A short time ago I solved following error: "Error 49: Volmgr. Conf page file for crash dump failed". Thanks to a guru here in this forum, he told me to enter into System/Advanced/Performance Settings/.../Virtual Memory Change, and check the “Automatically manage paging file size”. The error reporting stopped, everything OK so far.
However, after that moment my Vista uses extremely long time to shut down, up to 2 minutes. No error reports, nothing wrong as far as I can see, my Vista works perfectly well, and has a very quick start up. I tried to speed up the shut down time using a method I found in this forum, I entered into the registry and changed the WaitToKillServiceTimeout from 20000 to10000, but this did not help.
Any ideas?

Re: My Vista has too looooong shut down time

With WaitToKillServiceTimeout you can go as low as 5000. My shutdown is long too. It is also a function of the number of programs/processes that were running.

Dwarf and whs,
That helped! I turned off the Clear Paging File at shutdown, my kind of use of my PC does not require this option, and now my Vista has a real speedy shutdown. That easy to fix, but still, you need to know why, how and where, that's why we need you gurus. THANK YOU for your attention!! :D
