Permanent Problems with Vista - can't reinstall

I am VERY disappointed with VISTA :sa:

I have had Windows Vista 64 for 2 Months now and of that period of time it worked soundly for about 2 Weeks.
I am NOT an irresponsible User, I don't just delete Data, I know a little something about computing, I don't visit or download from dubious sites etc.

Nevertheless, Vista has been causing problem after Problem since I have it

1) Without any reason software suddently doesn't work.
a) I installed a Antivirussoftware - after 3 Weeks it suddently didn't work any more (Kaspersky) I couldn't reinstall it.
b) I installed a new Antivirussoftware - after 5 days it didn't work anymore.
c) 4 days later I started to get errormessages "Windows Defender doesn't work any more" - "Windows Hostprocess doesn't work anymore"

furthermore:
The Internet Explorer doesn't work anymore, I have no idea why (I usually use Firefox)
Windows Media player doesn't work anymore

2) Everytime I check the C: drive for errors it tells me there are errors, same thing when I do the sfc_scannow test.

3) I can't reinstall Vista, when I do it tells me there has been an Error 0x80070241

I think I need to completely reboot and reinstall everything

PLEASE HELP!

Hi Atonius.

If you got this error code while trying to install from the dvd :

I can't reinstall Vista, when I do it tells me there has been an Error 0x80070241
It may indicate a problem finding install.wim and copying the setup files.

You may have better luck with a different (external) dvd player, or a borrowed x64 installation dvd - using your own product key, of course.

Hope it helps

1) noone around me has vista 64 and they all laugh at me for buying it (XP wouldn't work because of the RAM) so where can I get a DVD?
2) why is there suddently something wrong with the DVD? it worked the first time?

3) can't I just delete the whole thing via bios? how would that work?

4) what is wrong anyway? why is this happening with Vista? If I reinstall everything, will it do the same thing again?

5) could it be hardware related?

ok great so no one has any Idea what is going on with my vista?
I'd suggest picking a specific problem and then providing additional detail around it. For example, the "host process" error (that may potentially be more serious than your other issues):

- What is the exact error message, down to the numbers?
- Can you reproduce it somehow or is it intermittent?
- If you can repro, does it also happen when you test in safe mode?

There's a natural human tendency to assume that all problems are interlinked, but that's not always the case. Try break things up into bite-sized chunks.
