Here's what I'm using at the moment. I rarely use the desktop, so many programs I frequently use aren't there and some I almost never use are there (I mean, when am I likely to use Turbotax 2007 again?). In effect, it hasn't been cleaned up in quite some time - come to think of it, I may never have actually paid attention to it other than to clear out some to make space for new ones I wanted to have or might want to add. I need to get to that eventually - probably soon now that I'm thinking about it (I did some minor cleaning to remove data files and sort them alphabetically (by user and then by all users) and make it more functional (though some I use are there and I know to go there if it's one of them - Quick Start has a desktop icon) even if I don't use it (or see it) very often). Tom's seems to be coming along nicely - it may take a while before I'm that organized. I also need to install the desktop icon position/size saving program so I don't lose whatever I do for whatever reason.

Special credit to anyone who can recognize the background. Hint: it's based on a popular movie that I've mentioned before in this forum (though it never actually appeared in the movies - but others like it did). As the Super Mod for New Line Cinema's (another hint) websites for all 3 movies (another hint), I had access to studio materials not commonly available to the public and this was one of the symbols that never made it into any of the movies - but they all look very similar with different designs but all red (infrared in the movies) and all a series of red/infrafred lines and dots. Final hint: I sometimes dress up in the main character's costume (perhaps even more extreme just for the effect - I'd never actually carry that many accessories were I doing such work as they would slow me down, throw me off balance, and not be that much of an added value considering everything else) and often (sometimes several times a week) dress up in a costume that looks a bit similar (even if it then lacks many but not all of the accessories of the movie character's costume as they aren't applicable to what I'm doing and actually are a hindrance during those times).

Man , I can't figure that out, Lorien. that's a tough one. Any more hints? How old r the movies, was it a real trilogy, or just 2 sequels after a successful first film?

All three were successful, but the first more so than the other two. They came out quite a few years ago - so long that the forums for the movies have all since been closed (I was a Super Mod for all three produced by New Line Cinema). In the movies, the images are called glyphs and signify one of 12 clans (though there turn out later to be a few others) and the reason they are infrared is because they are used to mark safe houses where the "entities" that use them are the only ones who can see them - normal people can't (without special equipment) and the "entities" gather there and consider these places safe and they are well protected and the "entities" can carry out their unusual habits (especially their "feeding" habits) there without interference (except from the main star - and then they are in trouble).

The main star (the name of the movie is the name of this primary character) is a special form of entity - unique - and is at war with all the other entities (and there are a lot of them all over the world). He is extremely strong, has parahuman senses, is extraordinarily fast, is an exceptional martial artist (in real life as well as in the movies), heavily (and I really mean heavily) is armed with all sorts of weaponry designed specifically for these entities (silver spikes, a titanium-edged katana sword, all bullets for pistols, shotguns, and sub-machine guns are laced with silver and garlic, ultraviolet projectors - special UV grenades in the later two movie,...). Wooden stakes, holy water, and crosses don't harm the entities in these movies (though all but the main character - his main uniqueness - cannot handle sunlight) - and that should tell you they type of entity.

One final clue (that will give it away - especially if you check IMDB) is that the main character is played by Wesley Snipes.

Good luck!

You got it!! Congrats on the "Special Credit" - worth absolutely nothing. LOL!

Yes, each of the 3 movies had a separate forum that lasted about 2 years or so before being pulled (even though at the time all were more active than this forum is now). And it was done one day without any warning at all (not even to me) so we couldn't even get in to exchange information and retain contact with people we'd become friends with (at least those who hadn't already done so - I learned that lesson from the first time but really didn't have all that many friends there - nothing like here - and remain in contact with only 2 - both in the UK). I have info for the top 100 posters still available (using my mod access at the time), but haven't used it and it's probably mostly obsolete by now. Maybe I'll use it one day if I try to become an Amway salesman or something (or to advertise my vampire novel) - LOL!
