Print function missing

M

Michael Blake

When composing a new email, replying to a received email or forwarding an
email I found that the print function is greyed out.

I was replying to a request for information and after typing the response I
wanted to print and review it before sending the response. I was unable
to print the active document as the function was greyed out. After having
sent the document I could print from the "sent" file as well as from the
copy I had sent to myself but could not print while it was still active.

How can I correct this?

This is by design I think, since the same thing happens in Outlook Express. I cannot even print a message saved in Drafts. It is probably the same in Windows Mail, but I have not got Vista yet.

You can print a draft when it is viewed in the preview pane, but not when
you open the draft to a composition window.

So you can, good workaround Ron. I wonder if it was an oversight they never bothered to correct in OE. A compose window can be printed in Outlook I just noticed.

The workaround applies to Outlook Express also.

I imagine it was designed that way. Not many people want to print while
composing, but many may want to print a complete message.
It is possible to print while composing in Thunderbird.

The previous application was Outlook which has the ability to print from a
compose window. I understand the workaround but I hope the function will be
included in later releases of WLM.

Thanks to all - Mike
