Recovering an uninstalled program without reinstalling

J

Hello, Somebody accidently uninstalled one of the games on my computer. It is
quite a large file and takes a while to reinstall. I was wondering, for
future reference, if there is any way to recover an uninstalled file without
re-installing it?

Thank you.

Usually no, when you uninstall a game not only does it remove the game files
from your HD (often times bypassing the recycle bin because the files are
huge), but it also removes system settings that are put in place when you
install the game. You can recover the files but some games (50% probably)
put system settings into various places in your system, if you don't put
those in the right place the game may or may not run correctly.

Re-insert your game CDs and install that way. If you gave away the CDs then
shame on you, go buy the game again. ;-)
