RRAS rookie needs help

I have an SBS 2003 server (inherited).
I do have VPN activated with the SBS server the endpoint.

I've started to notice that I get an IP address on the server :

PPP adapter RAS Server (Dial In) Interface:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.193
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.255
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :

at a time that I don't have any Remote Access clients connected.

I do see this IP on the RRAS administrator under Server | IP routing |
General as a local interface.

I also see traffic between this IP and another local host on the
network (using Wireshark).

I just don't know what this represents. I'm used to seeing a PPP
interface with an IP when I have a VPN client connected, but not
otherwise.
Can anyone advise?

The <PPP adapter RAS Server (Dial In) Interface> is used by the RRAS for the
internal adapter, it is a expected behavior.
For your question, you can check the 1723 and 47 ports have opened in your
firewall.
