SBS 2008 Force client updates

Hi all

I have just taken over a network that is running sbs 2008 with multiple
xp clients attached. I'm new to the server world so apologies the basic
questions. In terms of updates for the clients, I have configured the
sbs management console to install updates automatically for the clients.
When I visit the client workstations the user still has manual
intervention for the updates to happen. Now am I correct in thinking I
need to create a group policy on the server to force the updates on the
clients... Want them to happen when they log out or restart the pc

If you used the SBS wizards then that group policy would be created for you.
In SBS, use the wizards whenever possible.

There isn't a single wizard for all group policies, but many of the task
wizards will create the various group policies you need. The wizard for
redirecting users' folders, for example, creates a group policy behind the
scenes. Since SBS 2008 uses WSUS to manage updates, the post-setup tasks
will create the WSUS rules and any group policies needed for WSUS to work.

For more information on the tasks and wizards that can and should be run
after setup, I recommend picking up a book specifically about SBS. Your
local (or online) favorite bookstore should has a few.
