hey i have a windows vista 64 bit desktop pc and i here theres no power options for the desktop pc's so is there any other way i can set my pc to hibernate/shutdown/logoff etc etc after a certain time?
i have looked into the power menu on in the control button it only gives me a choice when to send it to sleep is there a way i can make it shut down in a certain time instead of to sleep? thanks again mate
thanks brink :D that is extrmely helpful also just wondering but say if i was copying some files and i wanted to go to bed is there a way i can tell the pc to shut off when the copying had finished? if so could you explain how that would be possible thanks again
Sleep or hibernation mode would be great for that type of situation. When the computer is done downloading, the computer would then go to sleep or hibernation after it sat idle for the amount of time you set in your power plan options.
Correct, but that is just the delay notice from the shortcut after you run the shortcut before the shortcut actually shuts down the computer to give you a chance to abort it. The time you want to set is the task in Task Scheduler to run the shortcut at.
