Strange Characters Appearing in Emails

Hello:

I'm getting this character -- Â -- sprinkled through my emails. In the
past, this has occurred with one sender only. Now, it seems to have spread
to a number of senders.

Would appreciate guidance on how to correct this nuisance.

Thanks,
HC

Stop writing to people in Azerbaijan? ;^)

Seriously, what makes you think it is Windows Live Mail's fault? It could
be your email server, senders' email servers, senders' email clients or your
client software, which I assume is Windows Live Mail since you are posting
in this newsgroup. Do you have sample text you would care to post?

What language are they writing in?

Are these new messages from them or they replying to messages from you
or forwarding messages?

That sort of thing can happen when different mail clients have issue
with the character encoding. For example, some programs don't handle
UTF-8 well.

If you are using a Western European language, you'll have better results
is you use "Western European (ISO)" rather than UTF.
