Transferring Message Rules to Microsoft Office Outlook 2007

I have the new Microsoft Office Enterprise package which includes Outlook
2007. This upgrade has forced me to move my mail program from Windows Mail
where I've already had to recreate all my message rules from OE6 that were on
my old PC. I cannot go back to that old PC. Please save me from having to
create my message rules yet again! It's taken me months! How do I get the
Message Rules data from Windows Mail and import them to Outlook 2007? Per
another post I found I should export
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail but there is no such file
in AppData location. It is unfortunate that Windows Mail has ways to export
Contacts and Messages but not Rules. Anyone have a clue how to do this?????
Being a nwbie to Vista I could use a step by step instruction on how this is
done. Thanks!

I know of no way to transfer OE/WM message rules to Outlook.
Those two programs are just too dissimilar.

Why do you say "forced"? You could just stay with WM instead
of switching to Outlook.

I am forced because although I made winmail my default, outlook still comes
up asking for server passwords and opening from whenever I click an email
link from a message. I cannot uninstall outlook from office as it seems to be
a built in component of Office Enterprise. I read that Windows Mail was
intended to be a predecessor of Outlook 2007, so I'm confused as to why they
wouldn't make it carry over. I would much prefer to stay with Windows Mail.
If you know another way to uninstall OE 2007 from Office, please let me know.

'Control panel|Programs and Features|Microsoft Office|Change|Add or Remove
Features', click Microsoft Office Outlook, click "Not Available", and click
"Continue". This will remove Outlook 2007 and leave the rest of the Office
2007 suite alone. Windows Mail, like Outlook Express before it, has
absolutely NOTHING to do with Office Outlook. WM came from the division
that made Outlook Express and the ONLY thing OE has ever had in common with
Office Outlook is the name. Beyond that, they are complete strangers. What
you read about WM being a "predecessor of Outlook 2007" is pure fiction.

If after implementing Hal's advice, you still have trouble when
clicking on an email link, do the following:
Go to Default Programs (which you can get to either from
Control Panel or from the Start menu). Click on "Set your default
programs" and wait for it to populate. Click Windows Mail.
Click "Set this program as default."
That should fix it.
