How to minimize Virtual PC to tray? Not Console but precisely window, where
Virtual Machine is running. I'm going to manage Virtual Machine only with RDP
and I do not want to see any windows on my host machine.
Thanks.

Maybe Virtual Server would suit you better.

You can't. Use Virtual Server instead.

What you want is a "headless" VM manager. That would be, as mentioned
in other posts, Virtual Server (Microsoft) or VMWare Server, both free.

A possibility is to use a tray manager that forces windows to tray
icons. Go look at 4t Tray Minimizer, for example. Maybe it can remove
the windows by presenting a tray icon for them. Windows that are open
can still have their visible attribute set to hidden which is how you
hide an open window. This utility might work that way or use some other
trick. Haven't used it so can't comment on its usefullness or
stability.

Hi Columbo,

I don't know if this will help you, but I use Dexpot v1.40,
and one of its options is to minimize a window to the system
tray. in Dexpot, I have set a rule so that whenever I open
either a Win v3.11 or Win95 VM that clicking the minimize
button always sends it to the system tray.

Just as an aside, there is now a portable version of Dexpot
v1.4 that I actually keep on my maintenance thumbdrive so
that when I am working on a clients computer I can have
multiple desktops for working in (I dislike crowded desktops
and task bars).
