Hi innocentboy,

Please try all the suggestions Richard recommended.

1. Try using Internet Explorer or Chrome instead of Firefox to see if you have the same problem.

2. Besides re-installing Firefox, don't forget to ALSO disable or uninistall your security software before trying the clean boot procedure. If you didn't uninstall the security software, please do so and try the procedure again.

3. Please boot into Safe Mode with Networking and try to access from there (with multiple browsers and with the security software still disabled). When done, don't forget to re-install or re-enable your security software.

4. I don't have a monitor icon either (on the taskbar or in Firefox), so I'm not quite sure what that suggestion means. I'm sure he will reply and explain.

I hope this helps you proceed while awaiting his reply and perhaps by then you'll have more results for him (and maybe some good news that you got it to work).

Good luck!

Hi innocentboy,

Still we have some progress and the fact that IE works removes many possible causes of the problem. The information about that update was a very critical point that I think should slightly alter the process to include one step before proceeding with the others.

Does Firefox work on no websites at all or only not on a couple or just not the one?

Do you know when this problem began (with the Firefox update I assume)? Try a System Restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem began. Here's the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76905-system-restore-how.html. Be sure to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points. If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two. NOTE: You will have to re-install any software and updates you installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for the updates. If this works, hold off on installing that update as it is then almost certainly the cause of your problem. Check Firefox technical support Firefox Support Home Page | Firefox Support for any information concerning that update.

If that doesn't resolve the problem, go back to step 2 in what I posted before (based on what Richard previously posted), and proceed from there as we continue to try to resolve the issues with Firefox.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

Hi innocentboy,

Uninstalling the update may have adversely affected Firefox and not returned it to its prior state (or perhaps you went back to a point where Firefox itself was not installed but some of it still remained on the system).

Uninstall Firefox using Revo Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems (the free version) in Advanced Mode. When given the option to choose items to delete, be CERTAIN they apply to Firefox and nothing else - if in doubt, do not check the box. When done, Reboot. If Firefox is not listed (be SURE it isn't there under Mozilla or some other name), read on.

Now go back to step 2 in my prior post and install Firefox in that status but do not update it (as we're not certain about those updates). Reboot and go back into clean mode and see if it works. At this point, then just follow the remaining procedures as decribed in that post. Hopefully, this will work.

If so, then we will try to address the problem with the updates - but let's get the basic product working first.

Good luck!

Hello Friend

I am facing same problem with firefox
And i have Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems

i tried to uninstall firefox from this program
but now i have to put the serial num

i don't have it

what should i do

can u help me?

My Computer

Hi innocentboy,

Are you certain you downloaded the free version? Revo does not require a serial number to uninstall programs, it requires none to install or use the free version, and to my knowledge, uninstalling Firefox should not require a Firefox serial number either (I've done so before using Revo and never faced that problem). Please confirm you have the FREE version of Revo installed and not the paid version - I suspect that's the problem. If that's the case, uninstall the Revo version you have and then install the free version and things should work.

Good luck!

Hi innocentboy,

Glad to hear it and it was my pleasure as always to assist you (not sure if I did, but that it's solved is the important thing).

Good luck and best wishes!

P.S. Dear?? LOL! I can't even remember the last time my wife called me "dear" - I'm not even sure if she ever used that particular phrase (and that would be over 30 years since we met). My mom might have used it when I was a child, but I can't remember. I'm not upset or anything, I'm just a bit taken aback as it was so completely unexpected.
