unable to move messages to Storage/Inbox folder

I am running Windows Vista 64-bit.

I just transferred my email to a new computer and I can't move any messages
to Storage folders/Inbox folder. When I attempt to do that, I get
"Unknown error has occurred" followed by "The selected message could not be
moved, An error has occurred"

I can move messages to Storage folders/Received and other folders. Does
"Inbox" folder have any special status ? Could I just delete it and recreate
it ?

Also, due to the fact that I transferred message twice already, my messages
are physically buried here:
C:\Users\Bumbrlik\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Storage
Folders\Imported Folder\Storage Folders\Imported Folder\Local Folders\.....

I guess I shouldn't worry about it since it is transparent but is there a
way how I can move them up to
C:\Users\Bumbrlik\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Live Mail\Storage Folders\
..... ?

Thanks.

If you have an 'Inbox' folder under 'Storage folders', it would have been imported from OE or WM if you did not create it yourself.

You can indeed delete it.

It sounds like your Message store has got confused. Try compacting
it by setting the frequency to 1 at [Tools >] Options > Advanced >
Maintenance > Compact the database on shutdown every..., then File >
Work offline and File > Exit. Answer Yes to the "recover unused
space" dialogue.

Don't try moving messages around in the file system; this is bound
to foul up the message store. Do it all from within WLMail, and take
your time. Select a bunch of messages, right-click and Move to
folder. Then make wait a bit for the move to be completed before
doing anything else. If you move a lot of messages, compact again
when you're finished.

It's probably not wise to call a folder in Storage folders "Inbox" -
that's a reserved name for a special folder, and that could cause
confusion as well. When you re-create the one you're planning to
delete, call it something else - "Saved", or something.

Once you've deleted a folder under Storage folders, your Quick views
will stop functioning properly. See here to mend them:

You should be moving messages within WLM not in Explorer.
Fyi..I don't have an Inbox folder under Storage folders
- did you attempt to move(or have already done so) an Inbox folder(typically only present in an email account folder when viewed
in WLM or Explorer)using Windows Explorer ?
