Video Card Problem

I have an Advent 4213 which today, I reinstalled Vista Ultimate with. It had Ultimate before but old traces of files and numerous registry problems deemed it unrepairable so a reinstall was fine by me. I have all the drivers backed up and installed them all not a while ago. However something seems to be wrong with my Video card that wasn't there before. First I can't turn on Aero, whereas I could before. I also can't use Windows Movie Maker as it says my video card might not support the hardware acceleration. Basically, most video card required tasks aren't possible and all I've done is a clean install.

Help appreciated :D
