Vista 64bit - Adminstrative Tools MMC using 64bit?

N

null

I was poking around and noticed the following:
Administrative Tools > Services (%SystemRoot%\system32\services.msc)

However the following exists as well: (%SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\services.msc)

So, is Vista 64 by default using the 32bit versions, or are the 64bit
version in system32 as well?

Note: When I run both neither have the "*32" which I'm assuming is a flag
for 32bit support.

Needless to say I'm a little confused.

Did you install any 64-bit third-party programs that can
take advantage of a sophisticated 64-bit operating system?

System32 has the 64bit version. And it is what is used. Even if you run the
one in SysWOW64, you actually end up with the 64-bit one.

Vista 64bit - Can someone help with services.msc file!!!!?

Hi guys,

I am faced with a problem of a similar nature:
I am running an

ACER ASPIRE 6930
with VISTA HOME PREMIUM x64

A few months ago the system stopped working and a 'helpful' neighbor who knows more about computers than me offered his services. The system ran again but was never the same. I sopke briefly to him and he told me that he had all the services disabled and 'guessed' what was wrong that way...
Well unfortunately he never bothered to restore them to their original state... now the laptop is crippled with a slew ofr things popping up as errors etc:

May I ask one of you to send me a copy of their SERVICES.MSC settings, so that I can have the default settings for the machine.

you can e-mail me directly at [email protected] TOO

Thank you so much for your help.

Best Regards

M
