IIRC, the boot CDs for Windows XP were not available for several months
after the public release of Windows XP.
If they are coming for Vista, they may still be weeks or months away.

What do you mean by "boot CD"?
The Windows install CD has been bootable for many years already.

That should have been "boot floppies" since they are to be made on floppies.

Not only many years, retail Windows XP CDs have been bootable since release.
