Where do "What's new" get the friends news?

At the bottom of messenger above the banner ads, there is a "what's new"
section that displays my contacts and a note, e.g. john - ran 10 miles
today, mary - has a new display picture, ...

How do I see all the notes that's related to john without sitting and
waiting for them to show up? If I click on the name which is a link, it
displays the person's live.com profile but the notes and new profile photo
which I want to see are nowhere to be found.

Greetings James,

If you actually click the 'What's new?" text itself, it'll sign you into Windows Live and
link you to http://home.live.com/whatsnew.aspx (you can do this manually too) and all the
data listed in Messenger is listed there in the web page.

Is that what you were looking for?
