Where is the Tool menu in Windows Explorer?

#1
My library offers audio books over the 'net, but the other day I had a problem with the software. The tech people told me to:
1. Open My Computer or Windows Explorer.
2. Go to Tools > Folder Options.
But there is no Tool menu on my Explorer. Just the Address bar with some other options below it, but no Tools anywhere.

Is there anyone how can help me?

Right click where the "some other options are" and select toolbar.

Hello NeStar,

You will just need to enable the Menu bar in Windows Explorer to see the "Tool" menu option. This tutorial will help show you how to.

Hope this helps,

Now I just need to figure out the next part, "Click the File Types tab.", which I don't seem to have.

::headdesk::

Maybe I should forget about the audio and just read a book.

The "File Types" option is not available in Vista like it was in XP. Instead you have to use Default Programs for something similar to that. This tutorial will show you about it. You may also look at the related links if this is not help with the option you are wanting to do with it.

I enable the menu bar, then go to http://www.enhanceie.com and use Tweaks to
put it back at the top, where it belongs.
Whoever decided it should be hidden by default and the toolbars should be
locked in place aren't security experts, they are morons.

In case no one noticed, people want choices, NOT MS's choices, OUR choices
for how things look.
Claiming that locking things down like that improves security just shows
they are EX-AOL programmers...
AOL now dominates the online world, don't they?
That makes all those programmers MS hired when they were laid off from AOL
(because the AOL software is now perfect) soooooo much smarter than the rest
of us....

I have the gasoline and matches, can we fire them?
