Why so many processes? And so many Chrome.exe's?

From what I know of it, each tab opened runs in a separate process. Also, supposedly, certain extensions can create their own processes too. I guess it is kind of like an Anti-Crash preventative measure. If one page causes an error, it doesn't have to close the browser completely, just the tab.

I'm not 100% positive, but that's what I have come to know about how it works in Chrome.

now that i think of it, you're right. is there anything else on there i dont need? tough day, cannot get printer to work anymore. (see other thread)

Not that I see. There's not a lot of extras there, except the itunes stuff. Nothing really out of the ordinary in your list. :)

Chrome befuddingly enough launches a new process for each page opened in the browser...

This is where it's phony "speed" claims are exposed.
