Hi,

I have a server (no hyper v capability) running Windows 2008 R2 64 bit, now
I want to run virtual machines here but what virtual software could I use.
I tried Virtual Server 2005 R2 for 64bit but there is compatibility issue.
Can you guys suggest what option do I have?

Thanks

There are any number of other virtualization solutions, from VMWare to
VirtualBox and others. Some don't require hardware virtualization. Virtual
PC might also work, though it likely will complain about being installed on
a Server.

As far as I know there is no Server 2008 R2 without Hyper-V version
available.

If you really have 2008 R2 look at the available roles.

Sorry about that what I meant by no hyper v capability is that my hardware
has no hardware virtualization.

Thanks for the replies.
