Windows Media Player Subtitles

I have Windows Vista Home Premium and when i want to watch a movie on media
player, it won't show the subtitles(.sub).
Can someone give me a link for a codec?

Install ffdshow and mark subtitle.

as, is this a streaming video, a video that is on a DVD disc, or......?
