I Have one more for Microsoft office 2007 Word.
1. Right-click on the desktop.
2. Click New and select Shortcut.
3. Click the Browse button and go to the Word executable (”C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\WINWORD.EXE”).
4. After the full path and the end quotes, add one space and type in /q.
5. Click Next.
6. Type a name for the shortcut.
7. Click Finish.
8. Use the Shortcut you just created.
No more splash screen when you open Word.

I believe its a good idea to create a disabling splash screens list.
