    If you remove the VirtualBox guest additions you should be able to simply
    create a new vm using the .vhd file. If you want to convert the disk format
    from .vhd to .vdi there is a utility called clonevdi. There is a sticky
    topic at the top of the VirtualBox on Windows Hosts forum with details.
