hi there,

I have Windows Vista X64 Ultimate and every time i want to format my hard drive and reinstall Vista, i need to remove 2 gigs of RAM, since i get a blue screen during the installation of Vista because i have 4 gigs of RAM. So i need to then get this update "Windows6.0-KB929777-v2-x64.msu".

My question is.....is there anyway to integrate this update into a back up copy of my Vista disc?. It's abit anoying to keep removing 2 gigs every time i want to install Vista.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

hi..

Cool, thanks. I've not heard about doing that, i guess if it doesn't work, removing 2gigs isn't that bad. It is only once in a while.

Vista SP1 is out soon, so i could probably integrate that just like i did with windows XP.

Thanks for your help.

Is this problem specific to a certain chipset or motherboard? I had no issues installing with 4gb or 8gb.

This is from microsoft's website and this is what seems to cause the blue screen....

" This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:

•The computer uses more than 3 GB of RAM.

•The computer uses a storage system that is running the Storport
miniport driver.

•The computer uses a controller that uses 32-bit direct memory access (DMA). "
