ive installed vista 64 bit with sp1 slipstreamed(?) on my laptop and for some reason i cant download from microsoft websites or from windows update, i dont know how to fix it. help

scanned with avg and mbam and both were clean
windows help said to wait 10-15 minutes and try again so i did that for 3 hours and it still didnt work.
microsoft help also said to download some software from their site that i cant access.
i bought this laptop second hand and couldnt restore it so i downloaded vista with sp1 slipstreamed and used the product key on the back of my laptop activated it and downloaded drivers,avg and mbam. i havent done anything else.
is sp1 causing the problem and can i uninstall it?

In IE go to tools> internet options>advanced> reset. What happens?

the module wintrust.dll was loaded but the call to dllregisterserver failed with error code 0x8007005

running system file checker now,
i looked on internet and other people have the same error code but not the same problems
