Problems since Update

About a week ago I had an automatic Windows update and since that day I have experienced problems with extremely slow page loading in Internet Explorer, Firefox and Windows Mail.

Loading a page of simple text and images in either internet browser now takes several minutes and any page with a video or video link takes forever. My system was running perfectly before the Windows update.

Any help would be appreciated.:)

Hi tlowndes,

Please follow the below mentioned steps to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Go to safe mode with networking and check if performance improves. Please use the following link for detailed instructions to go safe mode with networking: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/123496-safe-mode.html
2. If yes, then restart the computer and try to run the Microsoft Fix it for IE freezing issues and check if it works. Fix Internet Explorer add-on problems when IE hangs or freezes
3. Also run the Microsoft Fix it for Internet Explorer performance issues. Fix Internet Explorer issues to make IE fast, safe and stable

Perform the above mentioned steps and post the results.

Welcome
You may also want to try a simple system restore to before the updates. Now set your windows updater to notify, but not install. Install one at a time and test the machine. You will now know which is the problem update. Then if that update is necessary, we can talk about what to do. Most likely, you can just not install it, if not a security update.

Madhur thanks for your reply.

Yesterday I tried safemode and was unsure that it made any difference however I ran both FixIt links ytou gave me and it then appeared that IE worked really well. For some reason so did ?Firefox although I can't see any connection.

Today however, I'm getting the same page loading problems as before.

I havent yet tried the system restore solution posted by richc46. I'll try that next!

Hi tlowndes,

If issue persists even after system restore, create a new user account and check if it works. Ensure that it is an Administrator account. Please use the following link for detailed instructions to create a new user account: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/93009-user-account-create.html

For any clarifications feel free to contact me
