Windows update slow?

Been going through that for several months. Stumbled on the link below, downloaded and installed the file for August and instead of waiting all day as in the past Windows Update downloaded and installed everything in about 25 minutes. Saved the web site for subsequent month's files information.

You’re welcome. Tangled with this issue for so long and can’t believe MS would let this happen. This last (August) update had my machine running for more than 3 days without any updates. The load on the system was incredible. Turned my Update settings off in Windows Update and in Services (instructions in that link). They’ll turn back on when I click on Update after I’ve downloaded and run September’s file; when done I’ll just turn it off again. PC runs much quieter now.
