| Vista basic | Vista address book I just bought a new laptop with Vista Basic installed. XP Professional is on my desktop. Talk about a new learning curve!!! I bought the laptop for our road trips....thought I was copying my address book from my XP OS to Vista but my folders never appeared. Also my contact names are orgainized by first names only....in XP it's really simple to have the names appear last name first. I've tried everthing in Vista under 'View' then 'Sort' even selecting 'Last Name' but nothing changes. I never considered myself a newbie but I sure would appreciate some advice. Thx |

| Vista Ultimate 32 bit and 64 bit | Re: Vista address book For the address book (Contacts in Vista) have you tried the import facility in Windows Mail? For the second - this is a weird one! If you have, as stated, setup the "last name" column, double click each address (I hope you don't have too many!) and just Ok it. After a second or two the surname will appear in the order you have requested. There is probably a better way but that one worked for me. |

Actually I used the export feature in XP and copied the address book as a wab file to a floppy and then imported it in Vista mail. I guess I will have to import each folder separately but will they appear in Vista as folders or just be added to my looooong list of contacts? With XP it was sooooo easy to reorganize the contacts by either first or last name...I will try your suggestion but I must have 200 contacts in the list. As you suggest there has to be a better way? Thx |
