Help: Internet Explorer Froze

Does anyone know how to fix this: My internet explorer froze and I can't close it, it won't move, and every time I put my cursor over it, it has the timer signal. Even when I shut down the laptop, the not responding internet explorer still remains.
However, I can open up other windows of internet explorer. So, it's just one window of it that froze.
Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks!

Hi, GrobanGirl, and welcome to the forums.

You'll probably need to force close that IE window - right click on the Task Bar and select Task Manager, and then when the Task Manager opens (it may take a couple of seconds or so) at the bottom left hand corner there will be a "Show processes for all users" check box - check that.

Now, in the list, you'll see several columns, the first column is the process name column. Click on the header above where it says name and they will change into alphabetical order. Now, find *every* instance of iexplore.exe and right click, then click Terminate. When you get prompted to make sure that you want to terminate it, click Yes.

See if that can get rid of the one that was hanging.

IE has a bad reputation simply because of the errors it has time and time again. Personally I won't use it anymore and I would invite you to try out firefox. Simply goto firefox.com and you can download the browser free of charge and you should see less errors in browsing.

Just a suggestion if you find your IE locking up alot with the browsing you are doing.
