Is it possible to set an smtp server to recieve emails from a custom domain?

Please explain how to do so if possible, Thanks

Making your own SMTP server/ That might be *very* hard to do as you'd have to get listed as a safe domain by such sites as SURBL, Spamhaus, Sender Score Certified, DNSWL, and somehow have to get a DomainKeys certificate as well...

IIS and Linux have SMTP client built in. You need to get a static IP for your cable modem. port forward your router ports for SMTP and POP3 to the IP address of your mail server. It is not that difficult to do it. It is easier to get a hosted site for your e-mail. Godaddy.com can do your MX record for mail.yourdomain.com . You need a MX (mail exchange) record.

Get a lowend workstation and a copy of XP Pro SP2. IIS should have SMTP in it. You could do a Linux mail server.

My only problem with a mail server is the amount of junk that comes into it. If its only outbound, thats fine. If its inbound, I would not do it on your computer. I would setup a second computer in a DMZ for it.
