Problem installing Adobe Flash in Vista IE7

Hi:
I am a newbie running Vista 32 bit with IE7. For the past month or so I have not been able to access video output that require the Adobe Flash player. Each time I try I am prompted that I need to install Adobe Flaxh player and am usually directed to a installation button. When I attempt to intall Flash I get the following information bar message "Your security settings do not allow websites to use ActiveX controls installed on your computer. This page may not display correctly. Click here for options."

Nothing I have tried in the way of changing security settings as advised by the information bar help message makes a difference.

The problem has forced me to use another browser (Firefox), but I very much want to get this problem resolved. HELP!!

Thanks

Re: Problem installing Adobe Flash in Vista IE7

Hi, wrogers, and welcome to the forums.

Have you tried using the Adobe Flash uninstaller to make sure that any previously installed / partially installed versions of flash are removed?

How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control

WARNING
This will uninstall *all* version of flash currently installed on your computer.

Also, follow the instructions carefully - this is not simply a utility that you download and double click on.
