| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Program to Internet link broken? Many programs have links embedded to allow an internet address to be opened e.g. a clickable button to open Internet Explorer (or other browser) and go to the program writer's site, or a button to look for updates. I've only just realised after a couple of months with Vista, that these don't work any more! Any pointers please? |

Hi Taf56, Double check to make sure that Internet Explorer is set as the default program with all of it's associations in Default Programs to see if that may help. This tutorial will show you how to if needed. Default Programs - Program Default Associations Hope this helps, Shawn |

| Vista Home Premium 32bit | Re: Program to Internet link broken? Thanks Shawn That got me on the right track.... However http and https are on the list in "Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program" but not htm or html, and it appears Firefox has grabbed those anyway in Set Program Associations. If I try to Change Program... Firefox is all I am offered, not even Interner Exploere or my preferred Opera....... But at least the links seem to work OK. Cheers! |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Program to Internet link broken? Your welcome Taf56. You can manually set them by selecting Internet Explorer as the Current Default program instead for each of those protocols. This tutorial will show you how to. If IE7 is not listed, then just click Browse and navigate to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe . Default Programs Hope this helps, Shawn |
